About Widow’s Health is Women’s Health

Over twenty-five years, my journey has moved from widow, to mentor, to leader, to advocate. And I’m still moving. First inspired by my own mom becoming widowed two years before me at the age of 53. Both of us were widowed under the average age of an Amercian widows at 59 years.  We were both young widows with very little support and for the next generation of widows, I want them to experience something better. 

The time has come to stand with widows — to believe them when they name the very real challenges they carry, both now and in the years ahead. Every widow’s need is her own. From a simple prayer whispered in the dark to the weight of complex decisions no one prepared her to make alone. She deserves to be seen. She deserves support that meets her where she is.
